Santiago Ydañez

Jaen, 1967

 

Graduated in Painting from the School of Arts of Universidad of Granada, Ydañez participated in workshop with Juan Genovés and Mitsuo Miura.

 

Ydañez is one of the most internationally recognized spanish artists of his generation. Santiago Ydañez was awarded with the Premio ABC de Pintura in 2002, first award Premio ABC de Pintura in 2002, Residency at Colegio de España en París in 2001, Grant Marcelino Botín Foundation inn 1998, Residency at Spanish Royal Academy in Rome in 2016 and Award 33° Premio de pintura BMW in 2018.

 

Ydañez works is represented in several Institutional Art collections such as: Fundación Botín (Santander), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), Museo Sofía Imber Caracas, Venezuela.

 

He lives and works between Berlin, Jaen and Madrid.
