Juan de Andrés Arias
Graduated in Fine Arts (URJC) and Master on Artistic Research & Creation (UCM). Currently, he is a Ph.D student working on his thesis "Visual Archeology of the Digital Present (2010-2020): production of subjectivity from art practice" under the direction of Aurora Fernández Polanco and Rut Martín Hernández, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University from Madrid. He has carried out his artistic practice within the Nave Oporto studio since December 2020 and he shares his notes on contemporary art through the Instagram account “Archivo” (@archivos.archivo).
He investigates how the techno-liberal logic produced by the "digitization" affects our ways of life. To do this, he relies on the concept of "silicolonization" theorized by the French philosopher Éric Sadin, with which he exposes the strategies followed from Silicon Valley to establish their vision of the world.
